The Three Inch Fools present 'As You Like It'

Picture of three actors from the three inch fools in costume laughing and having fun acting

About

Upton Country Park are delighted to host the innovative touring theatre company, The Three Inch Fools, performing one of Shakespeare's most chaotic comedies in the Walled Garden!

With musical instruments in hand, the hapless troupe of actors take on 'As You Like It' - Shakespeare's story of rustic revelry in the Forest of Arden. Rosalind and Celia are on the run, Orlando is practising his passionate yet pathetic attempts at poetry, and a cohort of boisterous lords are rubbing shoulders with a company of country bumpkins.

This performance is an outdoor performance. We recommend that you bring blankets/chairs/cushions etc. to sit on ... and come prepared for the weather, the performance will continue come rain come shine!

You are welcome to bring your own picnic, or the Tea Rooms will be open selling light snacks, ice creams, hot, soft and alcoholic drinks.

7pm start time, picnics welcome from 6pm

As Shakespeare so famously said: love is merely a madness, and so is this production.
★★★★★ – "So entertaining…laugh-out-loud funny"
★★★★★ – "One of the best Shakespeare plays I'll ever watch" – The Bristol Post
★★★★★ – "The ultimate British theatrical experience" – Hastings Independent Press

The Three Inch Fools are acclaimed for their fast-paced and musically driven approach to theatre. They have built a reputation for staging bold and vibrant productions using all sorts of instruments, plenty of multi-roling and many a quick costume change along the way.

This summer The Fools are performing in the great British outdoors at over 80 different venues across the UK - castles, gardens, stately homes, historic barns, National Trust properties, village greens, churches, cathedrals, museums, arts centres, and even a royal residence or two (indeed any place where five actors and an audience can fit!). The Three Inch Fools are in their ninth year of touring, having so far performed at over 170 venues and to almost 100,000 audience members.
