Enjoy coastal activities in Poole, groups often make the most of our blue-flag beaches and breath-taking scenery with activities such as beach volleyball, beach soccer and the occasional frisbee tournament! Poole is also renowned as a fantastic base for great walks and was recently featured on the ITV series 'Julia Bradbury's Best Walks with a View'.
Arts & Craft
Arts are an important aspect of Poole's creativity and heritage and the area has a strong, developing arts scene. There are frequently special art installations to provoke creative thought. This February we enjoyed 'Light Up Poole' which is the area's first digital light festival.
Exhibitions & Shows
You can often experience world-renowned shows and exhibitions in the area. The 'Lines of Thought' exhibition at Poole Museum last year drew many visitors to the venue to view a special collection from the British Museum. The Lighthouse in Poole regularly has nationally and internationally known acts in music, theatre and comedy.

From toddlers to great-grandmothers, there really is something to suit all ages in Poole. There are many events that take place on Poole Quay that can be enjoyed by all the family.. Summer nights with family-friendly entertainment and fireworks, folk festivals and Mini-Steam on the Quay in May is a particular hit with families! On

A diverse range of festivals take place in Poole each year, from 'Folk on the Quay' to Harry Paye Pirate Day, both a success in 2019 and scheduled to be back in 2020, these are always enjoyable events that people look forward to annually.
Heritage & Culture
Poole is steeped in history and you can get the real essence of the heritage in the Old Town, this is where you will find Poole Museum, which is set in a Victorian quayside warehouse and regularly hosts exhibitions and cultural events.

A haven for nature lovers, there are many events in the area that allow you to experience the uniqueness and richness of wildlife in Poole and Dorset. There are bespoke bird-watching cruises and nature trails to enjoy during your visit.
Theatre & Concerts
Poole has venues that host acclaimed theatre productions as well as high-profile music concerts. Brownsea Open Air Theatre takes place each Summer and is very popular. Upton House has also played host to large music festivals with international stars.
Comedy & Live Music
Many venues in the area host comedy nights and have live music events. There are sometimes specific times of year when you will be able to enjoy coordinated festivals, such as Poole Blues Festival in September when many local venues get involved. The Lighthouse in Poole hosts nights with more nationally recognised comedians.
