If it's a stunning coastal walk you are looking for, then you are looking in the right place! There is good reason why Poole has been featured on the ITV series 'Julia Bradbury's Best British Walks' with a walk starting from Sandbanks in Poole, going out past Studland and onwards to the famous 'Old Harry Rocks'.

At any time of the year Poole, the coast and it's neighbouring countryside provide some wonderful routes for walkers.   It is a really popular area to take in unique scenery and enjoy coastal sunshine (*weather permitting). Further inland there are trails and walkways aplenty, you could even have a go at orienteering!

Granny Cousins Ghost Walks of Old Poole Town offer entertaining and informative ghost walks around the nooks and crannies of Poole's historic Old Town.  You never know who you might meet!

The Poole Trail offers multimedia insights to specific sites.   There are three trails – one inside Poole Museum and two around the town.  As you walk follow the trails on your smartphone or tablet.

Poole’s Cockle Trail – follow the brass plaques in the pavement to take this self guided trail, highlighting tales of Poole’s past.  Purchase a leaflet in the Tourist Information Centre.

South West Coast Path - you can walk along the beach and take the Studland Ferry which links to the start of the South West Coast Path.

This national trail  begins at South Haven Point (where the ferry lands) and follows the coastline west for 630 miles until it reaches Minehead.   The pathway passes through Dorset, Devon and Cornwall taking in the stunning scenery and historical features of the south Coast including the Jurassic Coast – Dorset and East Devon's very own World Heritage Site – the South West Coast Path offers spectacular views as well as fascinating geology and natural history.

It's the longest walking trail in Britain. However, you don't have to walk the whole route at once – Old Harry is a great Sunday afternoon walk and there's even a pub at the bottom of the hill!
