Our location is perfect, the county of Dorset allows lots of opportunities for exploration and fun. You can easily explore Dorset’s stunning Jurassic Coastline, rolling hills, forests and heathlands as well as pretty rural villages and historic towns.
East of Christchurch is the enchanting New Forest where you can discover and explore the forest’s ancient woodland, open moors, heathland and not forgetting the famous New Forest ponies, alongside cattle, donkeys, and free roaming deer.
Poole
Poole is home to Europe’s largest natural harbour and some of the best beaches in the UK. The Old Town and Quayside offers a rich maritime history waiting to be explored and there are many opportunities to try out a new watersport or activity in the harbour. The town offers a busy hight street with lots of independent shops and the indoor Dolphin Shopping Centre offers a fantastic selection of leading high street brands as well as independent and specialist retailers. Poole’s new shopping district KINGLAND just outside the Dolphin Shopping Centre offers 10 hand-picked independent retailers and has brought together these exciting retail environments showcasing innovative and up and coming young companies all in one place.
Poole’s own train station, bus and coach station and international ferry port offer that perfect link to both local, national and international destinations.
Poole Harbour & Poole Quay
Poole Harbour is Europe’s largest natural harbour and the second biggest in the world behind Sydney. The Harbour is home to several islands, the largest of which is Brownsea Island, which is owned by the National Trust. Poole Harbour is a designated RAMSAR site and has SPA (Special Protection Area) designation and is made up of many different habitats, which in turn provides a stunning variety of bird life.
The area offers plenty of yacht clubs and marinas and the harbour is alive with all types of craft including the famous Sunseeker brand, visiting tall ships and sailing boats. If you fancy trying out a new sport, combining the fresh air, with exercise and stunning views, Poole Harbour offers so many watersports opportunities, from paddle-boarding, kitesurfing, kayaking, windsurfing to ‘Winging’ it! Back on dry land you can the explore the historic quayside and Old Town to discover more about the town’s links to its maritime past and stop off on the way to enjoy a spot to eat and drink in a waterfront restaurant, bar, café or historic inn.
This iconic peninsula is famous for its stunning views, blue flag beaches, beautiful (and some famously owned) waterfront homes and the Sandbanks chain ferry which links you to the start of the Jurassic Coast and the Isle of Purbeck. Sandbanks is a haven for watersports activities and after a fun filled day on the water there are some fantastic restaurants and hotel dining experiences to watch the sun go down.
Parkstone & Branksome
East of the town centre towards Bournemouth lies the residential suburbs of Parkstone and Branksome. Parkstone is divided into two halves with the lower area being closer to the beaches and the upper encompassing a larger residential area. In Lower Parkstone you will also find Ashley Cross; a grass square area surrounded with independent shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. This is also where Parkstone Train Station is located. Directly to the east of Parkstone is Branksome, another residential area with beautiful sandy beaches and further commercial outlets.
