Walking & Trails

At any time of the year, Poole and its neighbouring countryside provide some wonderful routes for walkers. The Poole Harbour coast is currently the finishing point for the South West Coast path. There are numerous walks in the area, guided by a specialist. Enquire at the Poole Tourist Information Centre for more information or refer to the What's On calendar for any organised walks.

Cycling

Poole has over 50 miles of cycle network and 28 miles of paths away from traffic, including leisure routes in pleasant green areas and cycle paths by the sea.

The various routes cater to all abilities of cyclists.  It is possible to cycle between Poole Town Centre and Upton Country Park, Wimborne, and Bournemouth Town Centre using National Cycle Network Route 25. Route 2 will take you along the seafront promenade to Bournemouth - please note that cycling restrictions apply at certain times of the year.

Fishing

With a stunning natural harbour, Poole is a perfect spot for fishing. There are vendors you can use to go out on the sea on a fishing trip or locations where you can just sit back, relax, and wait patiently for a bite!

There are a number of hotels that offer the ultimate in spa indulgence along the Coast with the Most, with special packages and treatments that can take you away from it all.

Wildlife & Bird Watching

Poole is an absolute treat for nature lovers! The area is packed with stunning wildlife, rich in diversity, and well worth seeing. Explore Brownsea Island, the home of the red squirrel.
