Explore the treasures of Poole's historic quayside, delve deep into the heart of the Old Town where sea captains and pirates once stood and immerse yourself in Poole's fascinating history.

Poole Museum (free entry), the Cockle Trail self guided walk and Poole Trail interpretation panels will help unravel Poole's past for explorers young and old! Poole Museum is temporarily closed for redevelopment and is planned to reopen in Summer 2025.

You will find Beryl Bike bays located on the Quay.  A handy stop for the City Sightseeing Bournemouth Service, and local operator morebus also run their Route One town centre circular route with a Poole Quay stop.

Along the quayside look out for tall ships, fishing vessels and luxury Sunseeker powerboats, manufactured just across the water. Set sail on a harbour cruise or take a boat trip further afield to Swanage or Old Harry.  You can sit with the life-sized sculpture of Lord Baden-Powell, which honours Poole's scouting connections.

Visit Poole’s Tourist Information Centre located on Poole Quay.  The friendly team will give you all the latest information on what to do with your time in Poole.  You can pick up a street map and leaflets for all the local attractions. You can also grab a Cockle Trail leaflet and explore Poole's historic Old Town.

Make sure you reach the top viewing platform of the refurbished Sea Music Sculpture by Sir Anthony Caro which is over 30 years old. Here you will find the best bird’s eye views of the quayside and harbour.

Crabbing on Poole Quay is a must.  Both kids and adults can spend an enjoyable few hours seeing how many crabs they can catch in their bucket.  All you need is a bucket, crab line and bait.  All can be purchased from the quayside.  You will be amazed how many you catch!

Sample the delicious food and drink on offer in one of the many restaurants, cafe bars or traditional pubs whilst enjoying the splendid views across the harbour and overlooking the marina.

Just a short walk away from Poole Quay is the beautiful Poole Park, with play parks, sailing/boating on the lake, crazy golf and family activities including soft play and a Pottery Studio.
