Behind the Scenes Tours: Town Cellars and Oakley's Mill
About
As part of Dorset Architectural Heritage Week join the Poole Museum team to find out more about our significant quayside buildings and plans to restore and redevelop them.
We will be joined by appointed architects ZMMA and you can find out first-hand about the exciting plans to restore and redevelop these wonderful buildings for even more people to discover Poole's rich maritime heritage.
You will see conservation work up close, get behind the scenes and hear from the team involved as we futureproof these buildings for future generations.
The Town Cellars on Poole Quay is a building first constructed circa 1300. In the late 18th Century Thames St was cut through the building and today it forms part of Poole Museum to the East and the King Charles Pub to the West. (Please note that this tour is not underground.)
There are three tours available and each last approx. 45 minutes.
