About

Come play! Suitable for 0-99 year olds

Lots of weird and wonderful things to build, make and explore through child-led play and the themes of harbour life, shipwreck and setting sail.

Why not make a day of it and bring a picnic?

Location: Walled garden at Upton Country Park, nice and close the the toilets, tea and cakes!

Free entry and no booking required.

Warning! We are not just your average stay & play. We celebrate the power of play; when people play with Big Blue Play all sorts of magic occurs. Play is a process. There isn't a thing to make, instructions to follow, or something to take home at the end of a session (except memories and endorphins). Children's brains evolve when they play freely without instructions from an adult. This isn't a class or a workshop. Just like in a traditional fixed equipment playground or soft play children are free to roam at their own pace. The difference is all our things move about and can be used in ways that are meaningful to each child.

Inclusion and accessibility is important to us so try to bring a wide range of open-ended and sensory play things. If you have a child who likes to avoid big crowds pop an email to us about our Quiet Play sessions: bigblueplay@gmail.com

British summer warning! Outdoor play on a rainy day? Sure! we'll be there because children don't dissolve in the rain.
