Milton Musical Society presents Chess

About
Sir Tim Rice, Benny Andersson & Bjorn Ulvaeus, the collaborators on CHESS, are giants of pop/rock music and rock musicals, and here they have created a complex rock opera that has played to full houses and standing ovations around the world.
Set in the cold war era, this musical presented by Milton Musical Society becomes a metaphor for romantic rivalries, competitive gamesmanship, super-power politics, and international intrigues. The pawns in this drama form a love triangle. The loutish American chess superstar, the earnest Russian champion, and a Hungarian born English woman, who arrives at the international chess match in Merano Italy with the American, but falls for the Russian. From Merano to Bangkok the players, lovers, politicians, and spies manipulate and are manipulated to the pulse of a monumental rock score that includes 'I know him so well', 'One Night in Bangkok', 'Heaven Help My Heart', 'Nobody’s Side', 'Someone else’s Story' & 'Anthem'.
