Family Camping on Brownsea Island

Child and adult enjoying a camping tip on the island

About

An exciting opportunity to bring your family to camp on Brownsea Island.

Family camp weekends give you the chance to enjoy the adventure of camping on the island, while having the peace of mind that the tent is provided and the cooking is taken care of.

What can I expect?

Your adventure starts when you catch a ferry from Poole Quay at 09:30 on Saturday morning. On arrival our team will meet you and direct you to the outdoor centre and the site of Lord Baden-Powell’s first Experimental camp in 1907.

Once here you will be issued your tent, we have lots of supporters around to help you set up your camp.

Activities including, archery, low ropes, wildlife activities and a water sports option are available to pre-book on both days.

We cook a campsite dinner on Saturday night which is followed by a traditional Scouting camp fire and sing song led by our team. On Sunday morning you will be treated to a hearty breakfast before getting on with your day, whether that be enjoying more of our activities, chilling out or exploring more of the island before a departure time of your choice.
