In Christmas

With the holiday season upon us, all of us at BCP Tourism would like to kick-start this special time of year with our 12 days of Christmas blogs! Every two days, we will be releasing a blog specifically designed to give you ideas and inspiration on what to do in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole over the festive period. Introducing blog number one...

Enter a world of Christmas in Poole this year and enjoy Poole Christmas Maritime Light Festival, a brand-new FREE Christmas attraction.

Expect to see dazzling decorations and sea-themed trees across Poole. The brand-new FREE event is open throughout the season from 19 November 2022 - 2 January 2023, so don’t miss out on enjoying Poole’s rich nautical heritage with our spectacular trail of maritime-themed lights.

What is there to see?

Be prepared to be dazzled as thousands of twinkling lights take you on a nautical journey that starts at the gateways to Poole; the Twin Sails Bridge, Hunger Hill and The Lighthouse, with these iconic structures lit up in an illuminated display.

Highlights of the new enchanting trail feature a number of impressive light installations, including a five-metre tall ship, a giant anchor and a maritime curtain of lights.

Be wowed by several lit-up Christmas trees ranging in size between eight and 11 metres, and some glistening walk-through structures - perfect for a festive selfie!

Glistening overhangs take you on a spellbinding journey from Falkland Square, through the High Street and onto Poole Quay culminating in the glistening lit-up harbour.

Don’t forget to visit the recycling turtle on the Quay and recycling whale by Sainsbury's to find out more about protecting our precious ocean along the way.
