Several of Poole's Beaches offer distinct experiences
Sandbanks Beach
Renowned for its high-quality, soft golden sand and a blue flag award-winning beach for over 38 years! While backed by expensive property, the beach itself is a public asset.
Canford Cliffs Beach
Offers a tranquil and peaceful escape with a wide and sandy expanse. Its cliff backdrop and unspoiled sandy beach create a serene experience.
Branksome Chine Beach
A wide, sandy beach backed by a promenade, ideal for families with its safe swimming and play area.
Hamworthy Park Beach
This unique spot offers double the fun and for free by combining a small sandy beach with an extensive park. The paddling pool (open during the summer) and fabulous playground facilities for children are key highlights. Visitors can also enjoy panoramic views towards the Purbeck hills. Dogs are allowed all year round.
Shore Road Beach
Known for its calm waters and gradual slope into the sea, making it excellent for swimming. It is perfect for sunbathing and leisure walks.
Alum Chine Beach
This beach near neighbouring Westbourne, Bournemouth is an ideal family beach. Alum Chine is home to a beautiful Tropical Garden which is situated to the rear of the beach just into Alum Chine and immediately above the children's play ground.
What beaches are dog friendly?
Dogs are allowed on all of Poole's beaches from 1 October to 30 April, however from 1 May to 30 September there are some seasonal restrictions and dogs are not allowed on any of our beaches, unless designated a "dog friendly area". Additionally dogs must be kept on the lead on all promenades, piers, zig zags and footpaths at all times.
