O2 Academy Bournemouth

About

Bournemouth's premier live entertainment venue. A stunning Grade II listed venue hosting world-class concerts, club nights and special events.

O2 Academy Bournemouth is one of the South Coast's most iconic live entertainment venues, combining over 130 years of history with a reputation for hosting world-class events. This stunning Grade II listed building first opened its doors in 1895 as The Grand Theatre and Pavilion, quickly becoming a cultural landmark for Bournemouth with theatre productions, music hall performances, comedy, opera and even circus acts.

Throughout its rich history, the venue has continually evolved with the times. From the Boscombe Hippodrome and the Royal Arcade Ballrooms to the legendary Starkers Royal Ballroom, Tiffany's Disco and the Opera House, it has played host to generations of unforgettable nights and remains deeply rooted in the town's entertainment heritage.

Following an extensive refurbishment, the venue reopened as O2 Academy Bournemouth in 2009, marking the beginning of a new era for live entertainment on the South Coast. Since then, it has welcomed some of the biggest names in music, comedy and sport, including Jeff Beck, Queens of the Stone Age, Rita Ora and Disclosure, alongside countless sold-out concerts, club nights and special events.

Today, O2 Academy Bournemouth is renowned for its unique atmosphere, exceptional acoustics and striking architecture, making it one of the UK's most distinctive venues. In addition to an exciting programme of live entertainment, the venue also offers versatile spaces for corporate events, conferences, award ceremonies, private functions and community events, providing an unforgettable setting in the heart of Bournemouth.
