A new chamber music series comes to the Dorset coast.South Coast Concerts launches with an afternoon and evening of outstanding chamber music in the beautiful setting of the Branksome Dene Room, just moments from the sea.
This opening event features two of the most celebrated works in the chamber repertoire: Beethoven’s joyful Septet and Schubert’s magnificent Octet, performed by a group of the UK’s leading professional musicians.Designed to be welcoming and informal, these concerts offer a different kind of classical music experience - combining world-class performance with a relaxed, sociable atmosphere.
Food and drink will be provided, with additional BBQ served after the evening concert. Guests are also welcome to bring their own refreshments and alcohol.
Performances take place on 10th May at 3pm and 7pm, with tickets limited to 50 per concert.
3pm – Beethoven Septet, with afternoon tea and Prosecco.
7pm – Schubert Octet, with cheese, charcuterie, and wine.
The ensemble features some of the UK’s finest orchestral and chamber musicians, with members drawn from leading ensembles including the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Opera House, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Academy of St Martin-in-the-Fields, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ensemble, and the Heath Quartet.
Ticket holders also have the chance to win a pair of tickets to any opera or ballet in the 2026/2027 season at Royal Ballet and Opera, Covent Garden. Raffle will be drawn at the BBQ after the evening concert.It promises to be a truly unique occasion.
