After a day of April showers the weather cleared and approx. 430 bikes took advantage to come along and enjoy the first night and 15th season of Poole Dream Machines of 2016.

Organised by Poole Tourism, the event sees the largest weekly motorcycle meet in the South, taking place every from 6pm Tuesday evening, April – September.From the latest superbikes and custom builds to vintage classics and trikes, the Quay and Harbour offer the perfect location to show off a superb range of motorbikes where bikers and spectators enjoy a unique relaxed atmosphere.   And with a great selection of waterside cafes, bars, restaurants and food kiosks to enjoy during the event, it is the perfect place to relax and have a bite to eat.

Congratulations to Brian Roocroft from Bournemouth who won the ‘Bike of the Night’ title on his BSA Shooting Star.    Brian said “after a long absence I started biking again two years ago and have owned the bike now for 18 months”.   Brian rode home with a race kit courtesy of Muc-Off.

Judge for the night, Mayor of Poole, Cllr Anne Stribley, said: “The bike was in great condition and a striking colour, an excellent example of a British bike with its original appearance”.

As a Bike of the Night winner, Brian will also be invited to take part in the “Bike of the Year” finale at the end of the season, with cash prizes on offer for the top three places.

If you’re an avid biker, don't forget we have a limited stock of season armbands from Poole Tourist Information Centre (now located within Poole Museum) which give access to the whole season for £8.   Please note you will not be able to trade in your £1 entry ticket on the event night.
