Voyage: Exploring the human voyage through life

Voyage exploring the human voyage through life

About

Voyage is a new installation of sculpture, drawing and music that explores our journey through life and will be shown for the very first time at Poole Museum. Voyage includes work made over the last 15 years by André Wallace; boat-like and architectural structures in translucent resins, iron, porcelain and stone and large-scale drawings and prints, investigate themes of journeying and rites of passage. Composer/performers Susie Hodder-Williams and Chris Caldwell have responded to André’s work by composing new music that explores mythical journeying and connections between sea, land and music. These three highly respected and thoughtful artists talk to one another through their work and then invite us to look, listen, feel and ‘be’. The fusion between what we see and hear offers a deep and meaningful emotional experience and promises to connect with people of all ages and interests.
The imagery in Voyage relates strongly to the Museum’s collection and visitors will encounter works by André elsewhere across the Museum
