Regent Centre Tours

Regent Auditorium

Regent Centre Tours 2019

A chance to explore the cinema, theatre and concert hall serving Christchurch, East Dorset and the New Forest on Monday 11th February, Monday 11th March, Wednesday 10th April and Thursday 9th May all commencing at 10am.

Smell the greasepaint, tread the boards and lap up the limelight when you join one of the Regent Centre’s exclusive Tours.

This is your chance to explore parts of the Regent that are normally off-limits to the General Public, including the Projection Box, the Dressing Rooms, the Lighting and Sound Booths and behind the scenes in the backstage area.

Hosting the Tours will be Front of House Assistant, Simon Foulkes, who has collected together many personal and often very funny stories and anecdotes from staff and volunteers, which he will entertain you with as the Tour progresses.

Hear about everything from “a funny thing happened to me on the way to the theatre last night” to tales of the big international stars who have appeared live on stage at the Regent and maybe even a meeting with the famous Regent Centre ghost – the very benign spirit of the Regent!

There will be a chance to ask questions about the Regent, its history, future plans and about its place at the heart of entertainment in Christchurch.   Space is strictly limited to 20 people per Tour so do book early to avoid disappointment!

Regent Centre Tours are available for advance booking on 01202 499199, in person at the Regent Box Office or on line at

Currently there are four Regent Tours to choose from on: Monday 11 February, Monday 11 March, Wednesday 10 April and Thursday 9 May.  All Regent Tours commence at 10am and last for about an hour.  Tickets are just £5 per person.

NB: The Regent Centre Tours do involve climbing two sets of steep stairs up to the projection box.

This is a great opportunity to learn and see much, much more about the Regent in a Tour that will include the projection box, dressing rooms and backstage areas. It will also include a history of the Regent and amusing anecdotes from the day to day life of a very busy provincial theatre and cinema.
