Join us to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE day on Fri 8 May in Poole Town Centre and on Poole Quay. Organised by the Society for Poole and supported by the Royal British Legion, Poole Quays Forum and BCP Council, activities for the day will include:
14 information boards along the High Street and Poole Quay telling the story of Poole and its people’s involvement in World War Two.
Walking guides along the High Street bringing stories of wartime Poole to life.
Historic military vehicles on display.
Street musicians and singers delivering war time songs.
A parade of veterans, army sea and air cadets down the High Street terminating at the Quay (starting at 2.30pm in Falkland Square).
Banners and Standards paraded by Royal British Legion and the Society for Poole.
A formal address to the band and people on the Quay to remember the fallen (3.00pm)
