About
John Thomson is best remembered for his images of the Far East, and he is considered to be a pioneer in the application of photography to travel.
This talk by Deborah Ireland, a history of photography writer for the Royal Geographical Society, and Dr Michael Pritchard of the Royal Photographic Society, will provide insight into the legendary photographer’s work on display in our exhibition China: Through the lens of John Thomson. Join Russell-Cotes for a view of the exhibition, a glass of wine, and a discussion of Thomson’s time in China and the cameras and equipment he used to create such remarkable images.
