FlowerFest

People gathering for the 2019 displays in the quomps area

About

***Cancelled***
Welcome to our second year of FlowerFest, here in our delightful historic town of Christchurch, Dorset. After the success of our first year, we are delighted to announce we will be promoting and supporting the local Macmillan Caring Locally Brick by Brick Appeal during FlowerFest19.

Their aim is to fund a new unit within Christchurch Hospital, for cancer patients and those requiring pallative care. The new build will also incorporate a restful and peaceful garden design.

FlowerFest19 event will consist of the Floral Trail around the Priory grounds. Visitors are invited to walk around the trail, enjoy and see local businesses in a refreshing and innovative way. The visual effect is often long remembered and associated with the participating company. It truly is a refreshing experience.

For FlowerFest19 we will be supporting: Macmillan Caring Locally

After the success of FlowerFest's first year, we are delighted to announce we will be promoting and supporting the Macmillan Caring Locally Brick by Brick Appeal, whose aim is to fund a new unit within Christchurch Hospital, for cancer patients and those requiring palliative care. The new build will also incorporate a restful and peaceful garden design.

FlowerFest19 will aim to raise funds to support the garden element with a plant by plant division of the Appeal.

History of Flowerfest

"The seed has been sown to raise the profile of the creative side of all things floral and to show the joy to one’s spirit by working with nature."

- Glenda Stansbury ANCF (FlowerFest Founder)

My Inspiration came after a visit I made to the annual flower festival in Girona, Spain.

Their event has grown year on year (now in its 62nd year), and it continues to be the biggest revenue provider for Girona. The streets are lined with retailers and businesses showcasing their own creativity and ingenuity. From a small plant pot to the more elaborate window display of floral art, it is a feast for the eyes and senses. With local participation being key to its success it has become known as a community with a floral focus.

Walking the streets of Girona, it dawned on me that Christchurch would be the perfect venue for our own flower festival in Dorset.
