About

The Coastal Comedy Show with TV headliner Andy Askins!

Enjoy a top night of stand-up comedy with 3 hilarious acts and host, sponsored by Turners Property.

Headliner, Andy Askins is a diminutive figure who exudes an air of vulnerability as he steps up to the microphone armed with a guitar and a cheeky grin. It’s an overwhelmingly misleading demeanour which serves to heighten the impact of the killer lines that he delivers.

Andy has previously had the honour of working with Michael McIntyre, Lee Evans, Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr, Micky Flanagan, Harry Hill, Rhod Gilbert, Bill Bailey and Jack Dee, to name a few stand-up luminaries and we can’t wait to welcome him to the Lighthouse.

“ALTHOUGH HE LOOKS MILD-MANNERED AND STUDIOUS, HE ACTUALLY PACKS A WRY, CHEEKY WIT. THERE IS, MOST DEFINITELY, SOMETHING WARMLY ALLURING ABOUT HIM. HIS WINNING PERSONA GOES A LONG WAY.” Chortle

Opening the show is local comic Gareth Richards. Gareth has appeared on Russell Howard’s Good News (BBC2), Live at the Electric (BBC3) and performed live on Radio 1 on two separate occasions. He has also co-hosted Frank Skinner’s Sony award-winning Absolute Radio show for two years and supported Frank on his 2014 tour. His hilarious stand-up, silly jokes and gorgeously low-key comedy songs have made him an instant favourite on the comedy circuit.

Also performing on the night is Martin Wratten - an ex ice cream man from Eastbourne. At the height of his ice cream days Martin could make 3 Mr Whippies at once, but, those days are long gone.  He is now So You Think You're Funny Semi Finalist 2016, and Fosters South Coast Comedian of the Year WINNER 2017.

Don’t miss this top night out with some of the best acts on the circuit. The night is hosted by local comic Adrienne Coles – see you there!
