Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Instrumental Prize for the Bournemouth Young Musician of the Year

It is with great pleasure that we present The Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Instrumental Prize for the Bournemouth Young Musician of the Year class, with prize money sponsored by the Doreen Merrifield Trust and events sponsored by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

This is a recital class open to all instrumental players who are 18 years of age and under as at 1st September 2019, who have reached a minimum of grade 7 standard.

All eligible candidates for this class will have been approached while performing in their instrumental classes over the previous days to see if they are available to attend this event. Candidates nominated by Gill Johnston will then be invited to take part.

You will be expected to play two or more pieces of music of contrasting styles, in a minimum of 8 minutes and a maximum of 15 minutes, to a panel of judges.
