Apocalyptic Trees

Apocalyptic Trees

About

A tree is a universal symbol of vitality, a force of nature; a tree is a shelter and a protector of humans. ‘Apocalyptic Trees’ are machines; they consist of mechanical parts and grow from the fertile soil of human greed and pride. The earth is no longer covered by a grassy, floral carpet; we walk on electronic junk. We live in technological habitats. Our ambitions and aims are machine orientated- the better the machine functions, the better our lives. Our value is equal to the machines we own and the value of junk we create by the constant exchange of old for new. We are reduced to a biological component of the technological cosmos. ‘Apocalyptic Trees’ tells this story. It’s a dismal and disheartening tale.
