Harbar Bistro

Harbar Bistro Decked Terrace

About

The Harbar Bistro is perched in a unique vantage point with breathtaking panoramic sea and harbour views across the exclusive and famous Sandbanks Peninsula, Poole Harbour and the beautiful Brownsea Island.

Our destination restaurant, housed within the stylish boutique Harbour Heights Hotel, offers exquisite and delectable double AA-rosette awarded cuisine complemented by one of the finest and diverse wine cellars in the area. A treasure trove of fine and rare vintages to complement your meal.

At the helm of the kitchen is French-born head chef, Loic Gratadoux. Who, after studying at Paris’ professional training school, École Supérieure de Cuisine Française, Loic then worked at Michelin Star restaurants including La Table du Lancaster and Le Jules Verne. Then travelled to Australia to work at Pier One which during Loic’s reign was awarded three hats (Australia’s equivalent to three Michelin Stars). He now heads a brigade of nine creative and talented chefs who will excite your palate, creating dishes of classic British flare with an innovative French influenced twist.

Loic is passionate about using local and seasonal produce. So much so, that he’s on first name terms with many local fishermen and farmers! His policy is simple: if the food isn’t fresh and in season, it’s not on the menu. This means that every ingredient on your plate has been meticulously chosen and expertly cooked, from the melt-in-your-mouth meat and seafood, to the wonderfully vibrant greens.

If it’s cold outside, eat in decadence in our beautifully designed restaurant; and when the sun splashes onto our terrace, enjoy your meal alfresco - the breath-taking views are truly unique. The south-facing teak-decked terrace takes advantage of the sun all year and is perfect for a leisurely alfresco meal or sunset drinks with good company.

Whatever the weather, our boutique-style cuisine and professional service takes waterside dining to a whole new level.
