Newlands Hotel

Outside of Newlands B & B in Poole

About

We are a family run bed and breakfast in a lovely Edwardian House set in the quiet area of Alum Chine. A pleasant few minutes' walk through the chine to the beautiful beach with the handy ice cream shops and a play area for the children and also close to the village of Westbourne, with a huge variety of places to eat and drink without going too far. Also within easy flat (along the promenade) walking distance to Bournemouth town centre, gardens, Bournemouth International centre, night life, first class restaurants and bars etc. During April to October a scenic land train is available to take you to Bournemouth pier or beyond to Boscombe pier.

The Newlands Hotel is ideally situated for exploring Poole with maybe a trip Brownsea island via a lovely boat trip on a very regular schedule along the quay, or Sandbanks with its award winning beach and beautiful scenery or Bournemouth and all it has to offer and apart from the lovely stretch of beach etc. there’s anything from the “Oceanarium” to watching the world go by with and ice cream or traditional fish and chips. Many surrounding areas, Wimborne, Swanage via the ferry, Ringwood, the New Forest or Dorchester all reachable by car or if not let the bus take the strain as there are stops nearby to take you locally or connect to the not so local places nearby. We have great summer events in Bournemouth including the very popular airshow in August, weekly fireworks, arts by the sea festival and numerous other events to suit young and young at heart alike and equally Poole with folk/jazz music, dream machines (Motor bikes), Harry Paye (the pirate), Light up Poole, boat show, weekly fireworks and many more things of interest to all.

Our rooms are all en-suite and on the first floor only with all the usual facilities, Tea/Coffee making, flat screen TV, central heating and alarm clock. Guests have their key to the their room and the front door and can come and go at any time. We have parking for each guest on our own front forecourt and the road is very quiet so a good night’s sleep almost guaranteed. Then in the morning awake to a freshly cooked full English breakfast with many choices and options with fruit, cereals and juices to start served from 8.30am to 9.15am. Vegetarian option is available on request in advance.

We offer our own free Wi-Fi throughout the building, and there is a residents lounge for those wishing to chill out after a long walk or to plan the day from. We are totally non-smoking although guests are welcome to smoke out the front if they wish, every room has a smoke alarm.

We are sorry we do not accept stag and hen parties, this is for the comfort of our other guests who enjoy our quiet style and relaxing environment.
