About

Kingston Lacy house: A family home filled with treasures

A dazzling house, inspired by the palaces of Italy, set in a huge estate of varied landscapes revealing many layers of history. Stunning paintings by Rubens, Van Dyck, Titian and Brueghel make it an art lovers dream whilst the Egyptian Room hosts the largest private collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts in the UK.

A garden for every season: In January and February the Fernery, Japanese Garden and the Lime Walk are carpeted with around 6 million snowdrops. Late spring through to early summer showcases daffodils in the Nursey Wood, cherry blossom in the Japanese Garden and tulips and hyacinths in the Formal Garden.

The Kitchen Garden is the place to be in the summer, where the vegetable patches and herbaceous
boarders are full of life. Autumn is a highlight of the year in the garden, as the Acer trees and the golden hues of the nursery wood display the best of the autumn colour. Wrap up warm in December and enjoy the spectacular illuminated gardens on select evenings over the Christmas period.

Join the family fun at Kingston Lacy: Throughout the year you’ll find a series of events to interest every age group.

Spending quality time together is easy with many family friendly spaces such as the Woodland Walk and Kitchen Garden play areas, or why not bring a picnic and enjoy the space and vista of the Copper Beech field. Your little ones can explore the house and garden with family activity packs that offer creative and
interactive ways to celebrate what each season brings to Kingston Lacy. Add a little magic to half-terms, holidays and special times of year with visits from the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus’.

What to see on the wider estate: The Kingston Lacy estate has over 8,500 acres of countryside so lots of space for little legs, four legs and expert legs to explore.
