The Green Tourism Business Scheme link will open in new window
Since its inception in 1997 the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS) has been championing sustainable tourism in the UK and is Europe’s largest ‘green’ accreditation scheme for the tourist sector. With over 1,400 members across the country and over 280 members within the South West region alone, and growing all the time, can you afford to ignore green credentials at a time when GTBS Logoconsumers are increasingly aware of responsible businesses.

Surveys have shown that people perceive businesses who demonstrate an ethical responsibility, are also likely to be of a higher quality, and the GTBS has the feel good factor they are looking for in a holiday.

The schemes flexibility reinforces the policy of inclusion and allows participation from a wide range of tourism businesses, ranging from accommodation providers to visitor attractions. Allied to close links with quality assurance this allows the promotion of quality and the environment, two themes at the heart of sustainable tourism.

Benefits:

  • Reduces environmental impact
  • Identifies cost savings through efficiencies
  • Improves public image
  • Offer a credible sustainable choice for consumers
  • Links Quality with the Environment
