Dorset’s newest family event, Poole Harbour Festival promises to hit all the right notes with a unique blend of the best live music and some of the tastiest street food in the county.

The two-day fun fest on Poole’s beautiful Baiter Park offers a full weekend’s entertainment for all the family with a stunning bill of the UK’s top tribute acts as well as the best local bands. Also on the menu is a mouth-watering array of artisan-produced international street foods, many created using the finest locally sourced ingredients.

Add in a full range of free children’s entertainment, eco-art and craft workshops, circus skills and a family fire show, not to mention a full bar that’s well stocked with local craft beers and ciders and you have the perfect recipe for the ultimate family weekend.

“We wanted to do something the whole family can enjoy together, that doesn’t finish too late but gives everyone a great day and a fun-packed night out,” says Poole Harbour Festival organiser Ben Dyas.

By day children’s characters including Peppa Pig, the Minions and Elsa from Frozen will roam the festival site making sure young revellers are having a fine time. The live music programme gets underway around lunchtime each day and will run on two stages until 10pm on Saturday and 9pm on Sunday.

Topping the bill are critically acclaimed tribute bands Oasish, Stereotonics, the Really Hot Chili Peppers and The Jilted Generation whose Prodigy-praising act comes fresh from the Isle of Wight Festival.

Other confirmed main stage acts include Black Water County, Saints of Sin, Remedy Sounds, SN Dubstation and Lady Winwood’s Maggot. The second stage will feature the Mother Ukers, Matt Black, Lewis Jordan Brown and Rock ’n’ Blues Co.

Advance tickets are on sale now, priced £5 (£3 kids, £13 family). Under 5s free.
