Paultons Park opens for 2016 season on February 14th 22 Jan 2016


Family theme park, Paultons Park is set to open its gates for the 2016 season on February 14 to coincide with the half term break. Guests visiting the Hampshire-based park will be treated to a prehistoric adventure at its state-of-the-art 4D cinema which will be screening its new animated dinosaur movie The Lost World 4D.The Lost World 4D will take families into a whole new world of adventure, forty million years in the making. Fierce Raptors, flying Pterodactyls, giant Triceratops and Stegosaurus, and the mighty T-Rex all roam this hostile world. The movie tells the story of Bob and his unlikely rescuer, Professor Lizzie, as they outrun these terrifying predators.Movie-goers will be thrown into the on-screen action and taken on a wild jeep ride through dense tropical rainforest and soar above this forgotten island, while experiencing the cinema’s 4D effects including specially-designed moving chairs, water sprays, blasts of air, leg ticklers, and even bubbles.Paultons Park, which is home to the world’s first and UK exclusive Peppa Pig World, re-opens for the school half term on Sunday February 14. Guests will be able to enjoy more than 60 wonderful rides, including favourites such as EDGE, Cobra -Paultons’ biggest rollercoaster, Magma, the Raging River Ride and its bizarre mini-land which opened last year, Critter Creek. Paultons Park is delighted to have once again obtained platinum grades for all toilet blocks entered into the Loo of the Year Awards, the 2015 search to find the best ‘away from home’ toilets in the UK.Alongside achieving the highest grade possible, the family theme park also received additional recognition in the form of national winner for the Water and Theme Park category in England. The Attendant of the Year Award identifies dedicated staff members who look after toilets all over the UK and in receiving this award, the Paultons cleaning team have been recognised for their contribution to the outstanding reputation of the park.These awards put Paultons Park forward for the Overall Market Sector Award within the Leisure Sector, an award which was secured ahead of competitors including The Giant’s Causeway and the Eden Project. Commenting on the award win, Stephen Lorton, commercial director for Paultons Park, said: “There were more than 1000 entries to the Loo of the Year Awards this year and it is an honour for the park to receive such fantastic recognition ahead of so many competitors.  Paultons Park would like to congratulate the team on this excellent result; it is a great achievement that demonstrates the hard work carried out by all to ensure that facilities are constantly at their best.”

Wave 105’s Mission Christmas smashes its 2015 toy target 22 Dec 2015


The Wave 105 Cash for Kids team is thrilled to announce that a staggering 78,382 presents have been donated for this year’s Mission Christmas toy appeal. Gifts have been received from across the south and are currently being delivered ahead of Christmas Day to underprivileged children throughout the region.
