2010 Coles Miller Dream Machines Bike of the Year results

The "Bike of the Year" 2010 contest was held outside the Thistle Hotel on Tuesday 28th September. This was open to riders who had won a weekly "Bike of the Night" heat during 2010. Out of the 25 week season, the finale welcomed 21 bikes back to compete.

During the evening, voting cards were handed out to fellow bikers and spectators so they could place a vote for their favourite bike in the line up. Each competing bike had a details board next to it with information provided by the owner, promoting the individual bike's history and any amusing anecdotes.

1st place - winning £500 - David "Midge" Holloway, from Poole with his Triumph Bonneville T120R 650cc.  Midge, said: "I purchased this bike about 30 years ago as a box of bits and put it in my shed for years until I had time to restore it. It was rebuilt to make sure all parts were there and then it was painstakingly taken apart and restored to its original condition. Finally put back together, it was then roadworthy again in October 2005 and has been used regularly ever since. It is my pride and joy and I'm over the moon to have won Bike of the Year."

2nd place - winning £200 - Paul Burger, from Bournemouth with his Triumph 3TA 21

3rd place - winning £100 - Paul Taylor, from Christchurch, with his Honda CBX 1000 six cylinder chopper

Adrian Cormack, Partner at Coles Miller LLP, said: "This has been another fantastic year and the bike of the year competition provides a fabulous season finale. Congratulations to all those competing and everyone who participated throughout the year to make Coles Miller Dream Machines such an enjoyable part of Poole's special events programme."
