The magnificent 200 foot square-rigged ship, the Stavros S Niarchos, arrived at Poole Quay today, Thursday 8th April, on a beautiful sunny morning. The ship, owned by the Tall Ships Youth Trust, is en route from Cherbourg. It will be berthed at Poole Quay until 10 am on Friday morning when it sets sail for Portsmouth.

Stavros S NiarchosThe Tall Ships Youth Trust, incorporating the Sail Training Association, is a registered charity founded in 1956 and dedicated to the personal development of young people aged 14 to 25 through the crewing of its vessels.

If you miss the Stavros Niarchos on this visit there’ll be another chance to see her when she returns to Poole Quay from the 25th to 27th April, and again from the 16th to 19th May.

Look out for future courtesy visits to Poole Quay from feature vessels include the Netherlands Naval Ocean Navigational Ship Van Kinsbergen from 16th to 19th April and HMS Cattistock, a Royal Navy Hunt Class Minesweeper, from May 7th to 10th.
