2009 Coles Miller Dream Machines Bike of the Year Results

2009 Coles Miller Dream Machines Bike of the Year Results

Coles Miller Dream Machines 2

The 2009 season of Coles Miller Dream Machines ended on a high with hundreds of bikers and spectators arriving to enjoy the final event on Tuesday 29th September.

During the evening the "Bike of the Year" contest was held outside the Thistle Hotel. This was open to riders who had won a weekly "Bike of the Night" heat during 2009. Out of the 25 week season the finale welcomed 23 bikes back to compete.

During the evening voting cards were handed out to fellow bikers and spectators so they could place a vote for their favourite bike in the line up. Each competing bike had a details board next to it with information provided by the owner, promoting the individual bike's history and any amusing anecdotes.

As the sun set, the glorious weather ensured the event created a bustling, lively atmosphere on Poole Quay. With almost 800 votes cast the top three bikes were as follows:

1st place - A Kawasaki 750 H2 owned by Paul Taylor from Christchurch. Paul was presented with a cheque for £500 along with a race kit courtesy of Muc-Off (109 votes)

2nd place - A Suzuki Hayabusa owned by Nigel Herring from Oxfordshire.  Nigel won £200 plus a family pass for Beaulieu (88 votes)

Joint 3rd place - A Velocette Venom Clubman 1968 owned by John Fear from Wimborne and a Triumph T120R 1961 owned by Midge Holloway from Poole. Both bike owners shared the cash prize of £100 and walked away with £50 (63 votes each)
