Almost one fifth of Poole is made up by publicly accessible green space.   Poole, Hamworthy and Upton Country Park, make up the borough's trio of award winning parks.

Green FlagPoole Park and Upton Country Park have been recognised as two of the finest parks in the country after each received a sought after Green Flag award


Just a short walk from the centre of town you'll discover a haven of peace and rare beauty.Poole Park lake is at the centre and is surrounded by facilities such as tennis courts, bowling green, children's indoor and outdoor play areas, ice skating rink, Poole Park railway and a fitness trail.   Visit Sevens Boatshed Restaurant or Central Park Cafe where you can enjoy refreshments.


 With its waterside location offering panoramic views towards the Purbeck hills, this green space is definitely worth a visit.   The Park has a sandy beach with a promenade, extensive grassed area, large paddling pool (open during the summer) and excellent playground facilities.   The more energetic individual might like to use the tennis courts of perhaps take part in a watersports session before relaxing in the Bay Cafe.

Upton House is an early C19 residence surrounded by formal gardens, farmland, shoreline and woodland that hosts a variety of wildlife.    The Peacock Gallery, which is situated above the very popular Peacock Tearooms, offers art exhibitions and displays throught the year.   A variety of family friendly events take place in the ground at weekends and holiday times - see events page for details.

Car parking can be found at each of these parks but they are also very easy to reach by bus, foot or bike.
