Brownsea Island is situated in Poole Harbour and is owned by the National Trust.

Take a short boat trip from Poole Quay or Sandbanks to discover an island rich in history, wildlife and adventure. Enjoy peace and tranquility, breathtaking coastal views, walks, electric buggy tours and family trails including tree climbing, plus natural play area.

Famous for being the birthplace of the Scouting and Guiding movement, the Baden-Powell Outdoor Centre is open to youth and educational groups and provides a wide programme of activities as well as residential opportunities.

Looking across from Brownsea Island, you can see the captivating Corfe Castle, which is also looked after by the National Trust.

New: The Brownsea Seahorse runs a pre-bookable service for wheelchair bound visitors, running from Sandbanks during the season on set days.   Please call the office on 01202 707744 for dates and to book.

Opening Times:
The Island is open daily to the public from 18 Mar - 29 October 2017, 10am - 5pm.

Winter Weekend opening:
The perfect time to enjoy amazing winter wildlife and access the island at its most tranquil.
The Island is open  weekends only 10 Feb - 11 March 2018 from 10am - 4pm, boats hourly from Poole Quay & Sandbanks.

The Island re-opens daily to the public 17 March 2018. 

Note - Ferry fare payable when travelling to Brownsea Island.   There is also a landing fee payable on the island for non National Trust members.
