Pay by Plastic to Park in Poole
Motorists using council owned car parks across Poole can pay for their parking by mobile phone.
Borough of Poole’s Transportation Services are offering the service known as RingGo in 31 of their pay and display areas where motorists can pay for parking with a credit or debit card. Motorists can call the local 01202 number and pay for their parking quickly and easily using the automated speech recognition technology provided by Cobalt Telephone Technologies Ltd. A four-digit location code displayed on car park signs will be requested, as well as vehicle information including the colour, make and registration number before finally asking the customer to specify a parking time.
People using the service can also extend their parking period (subject to the maximum stay permitted) by simply calling the number again and saying how much longer they want to stay. Traditional ticket machines will remain available at the car parks for motorists who prefer to pay with change.
Calls will be charged at customers normal rate and parking charges remain the same for both types of payment; however, there will be an additional 20 pence convenience charge for mobile phone payments, which is collected by RingGo.
- Parking for motorcycles is free in all surface car parks.
- Disabled parking includes wheelchair spaces.
- Multi-storey car parks are not free to either orange badge or tax exempt vehicles.
- Motor Caravans - all multi-storey car parks are not suitable due to a height restriction of two metres, please use surface car parks.
- Limited Disabled parking is available on the Quay
- Dedicated Motorcycle Bays are available on the Quay
Launching boats and watersports equipment
For those wishing to launch boats or watersports equipment throughout the year, an annual ticket is available for Harbourside 1 Car Park to use the slipway facility for launching.
