Gold Siver VE LogoGold and Silver Awards 
VisitEngland’s unique Gold and Silver awards are given in recognition of exceptional quality within a property’s star rating, or for outperforming a star rating. Serviced accommodation (hotels and guest accommodation) are eligible to receive either a Silver or Gold award, whereas self-catering and serviced apartments are able to achieve a Gold award only.

The assessment criteria for obtaining a Gold or Silver award varies between types of accommodation. However, properties do need to be a member of VisitEngland’s Quality Assessment Scheme in order to go for an award.

AA Red StarAA Inspectors' Choice (Red Stars)
These hotels stand out as the very best in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, regardless of style. The selected Inspectors' Choice hotels are identified by red Stars. 
AA Yellow StarAA Gold Star Award (Gold Stars)
AA Gold Stars are awarded to the very best of Guest Accommodation within the 3, 4 and 5 star ratings

RosettesAA Rosettes
AA inspectors annually award Rosettes to restaurants in hotels and guest accommodation for the quality of their food. Restaurants are awarded one to five rosettes. Excellent restaurants that stand out in their local area are awarded one rosette. The best local restaurants, offering higher standards and better consistency are awarded two rosettes. Outstanding restaurants that demand recognition well beyond the local area are awarded three rosettes.

Visit England Welcome Schemes
These schemes highlight operators that provide facilities or services to welcome certain groups.  These assessments are completed with the annual quality assessment. If you're a walker or cyclist, for example, you know how helpful it is to stay somewhere that offers facilities like a room to dry wet clothes - so look out for Walkers Welcome and Cyclists Welcome logos on accommodation that does this and much more.

Visit England Breakfast Award logoEnjoy England Breakfast Award
Sponsored by Kellogg's, this award recognises  hotels and B&Bs that offer their guests a quality & choice of breakfast, service and hospitality that exceeds what would be expected at their star rating. Where you see this symbol your hosts have gone the extra mile to ensure the breakfast will exceed expectations.


AA Breakfast LogoAA Breakfast and Dinner Award
For guest accommodation, the eggcup and pie symbols indicate a very special breakfast or dinner, with an emphasis on freshly prepared local ingredients.


GTBS Plain LogoGreen Tourism Business Scheme  
The Green Tourism Business Scheme is the leading sustainable tourism certification scheme in the UK.   Businesses opting to join are assessed by a qualified grading advisor against a rigorous set of criteria, covering a range of areas e.g. energy and water efficiency, waste management etc.   Businesses displaying this symbol take environmental responsibility seriously and have made a special effort to care for our environment. 

David Bellamy General LogoDavid Bellamy Conservation Awards
Awards are made to holiday parks which demonstrte an active concern for the environment.  Three levels can be achieved - Gold, Silver, Bronze.

National Accessible Scheme
The owners displaying a National Accessible Scheme (NAS) logo have taken into particular consideration the needs of guests with hearing, visual or mobility requirements and have been independently audited by trained assessors. Operated as part of VisitEngland The National Accessible Scheme (NAS) is the only scheme that rates the accessibility of visitor accommodation throughout England.
