Poole Goes Vintage Header 2Glamour and retro chic will be the name of the game as Poole Goes Vintage returns for its third year, bringing a day dedicated to the music, dance, fashion & the classic cars of the 1940’s and 50’s to Poole Quay.

Sponsored by Dutton Gregory Solicitors, visitors will be able to jive and jitterbug to a sensational soundtrack of swing, jive, rockabilly, rhythm & blues on Sunday 16 July from 11am-7pm.  Organised by Poole Tourism working with vintage events specialist Real Vintage, the event is part of Poole’s Wave105 Summertime in the South events.

Sue Murphy, Head of Business Development and Marketing, Dutton Gregory, said; “The event is all about enjoying the charm and sophistication of vintage style which is enduringly popular and people just seem to love.  The music line up looks amazing and we are thrilled to be part of Poole’s programme of free special events again this year.”

With live music from 40’s style girl duos The Aphrodites and Scarlet Swing to flat out rock ‘n roll from Rocking the Joint and Rip it Up, there will even be a performance from The King as Elvis takes to the stage.

Visitors can indulge in a feast of flowing frocks and dapper suits as fabulous fashions from the 40’s and 50’s take to the runway for a showcase of the timeless fashions of the era.

Prepare for a treat as the glamourous Miss Annie, leading lady from the Regular Joes and Midnight Shift performs solo before the headliners The Junco Shakers bring their own brand of skifflebilly swing to the Quay inspired by country, roots, rhythm and blues at 5.30pm.

Paul Dredge, Acting Chairman of the Poole Tourism Partnership, said; “Poole goes Vintage appeals to huge range of people from enthusiasts to those who are discovering more about the era for the first time.  It has fantastic energy, is hugely popular and draws a whole new crowd to experience the Quay as a great venue for events. Our thanks go to Dutton Gregory Solicitors for their support and belief in the   popularity of Poole’s vintage event.
