Festive fun is set to descend on the Dolphin Shopping Centre in Poole next month in preparation for the Christmas season.

Santa will arrive at the centre to his secret hide-out on November 19 and families will be able to meet and greet him every weekend through to December 18, from 11am to 5pm.  Those with any last-minute gift requests will also be able to meet him from Thursday 22 to Saturday December 24.

Santa’s Secret Hide-Out will be based in Kingland Crescent and children will also be able to take part in festive arts and craft activities which include decorating a Christmas cupcake in Mrs Klaus’ kitchen.  Each child will also receive a gift.

To coincide with late-night shopping every Thursday in December between 6pm and 9pm, the centre will be hosting a Festive Funfair event.  A range of funfair-themed stalls will be based in the centre during late-night shopping evenings, giving shoppers the opportunity to ‘hook a present’, take part in ‘perfume hoopla’, have a go at ‘spin to win’ and select a ‘mystery box’ for their chance to win an abundance of prizes.

Donations made by those taking part in any of the centre’s festive activities will be presented to the Dolphin Shopping Centre’s two 2016 preferred local charities, the blood cancer charity Leaf and dog rescue charity Waggy Tails.

John Grinnell, centre manager at the Dolphin Shopping Centre, says: “Christmas will shortly be upon us and this year we wanted to provide a range of extra activities for families to get involved in and enjoy while they shop.  Children can visit Santa in his hide-out and have a go at one or more of our festive art and craft activities, and taking advantage of our late-night shopping evenings will be able to have some fun at the fair!”
