The National Trust, Dorset Wildlife Trust and the RSPB have partnered up to showcase Poole Harbour, its islands and the spectacular wildlife that depends on it at this special time of year.

These boats are a rare opportunity to see one of the best winter spectacles in the UK and offers exclusive access to Brownsea Island out of the main season.

Please note that not all of the cruises land on Brownsea, see notes below for dates.

Light Up Poole – a 3-day Light Art Festival set to illuminate Poole town centre
from Thursday 15 – Saturday 17 February.

Light Up Poole Squirrel 

The festival features newly-commissioned interactive light and sound installations, projections, games and digital workshops created by artists locally, nationally and internationally, and will allow you to see Poole in a completely new light! The festival also forms the first part of the 40th birthday celebrations for Lighthouse in 2018.

The area of Poole between Falkland Square and the Quay will be completely transformed in a wonderland of lights that can be enjoyed by all ages.

The glorious age of steam will be returning to Poole on Saturday 12th May as a festival of mini steam engines take over Poole Quay.

Poole’s Mini Steam on the Quay will see some of the most beautiful and detailed mini steam and traction engines, some which have featured on the Discovery Channel, on display and running from 10am-5pm.

Featuring unique mini steam engines, there will be everything to keep steam enthusiasts young and old happy. Organised by local enthusiast Richard Harvey, the event will include the chance to ride on the special engines.

It's a great, fun day out for the whole family.

Organised by the Pirates of Poole and supported by Poole Tourism, the popular shindig gets underway from 12 under the noonday sun with the Parade of Pirates along Poole Quay.  Learn the lingo with the pirate translator.
